Summer camp in this region runs a wide range from half-day enrichment programs at local art studios and gymnastics centers to full-week specialty intensives in robotics, theater, swimming, and baseball. Overnight camp options exist but typically require an hour or more of driving to reach the mountain and lake camps north of Birmingham. What most River Region families discover is that the local summer camp ecosystem is genuinely excellent.
